Alan Oldham at the Vienna International Conference on Club Culture!

Alan Oldham will be one of the After Dark Speakers at the Vienna International Conference on Club Culture this November!

Alan Oldham, also known as DJ T-1000, is a Detroit-born artist, DJ, and producer whose career began in the late 1980s. He launched Detroit’s first electronic music radio show and created the comic Johnny Gambit, before designing iconic artwork for Derrick May’s Transmat label and joining the Detroit-based label, Underground Resistance.

Now based in Berlin, Oldham has performed worldwide and released music through his label, Pure Sonik Records. His visual art has been exhibited in Paris, London, and Kōbe. During the pandemic, Oldham was recruited by Dr. Motte’s Rave The Planet team to help with their initiative to achieve UNESCO Intangible Heritage Status for Berlin Techno. In 2024, he received Detroit’s “Spirit of Detroit” Award for his contributions to the city’s cultural scene.
